This past week was Diwali, or the "Festival of Lights", which is one of the most important Hindu festivals of the year. I honestly don't know a ton about this holiday, but I do have several friends that celebrate this, and I was lucky to get some cultural insight from them about it. The night of,  I went to dinner at Dosa, a super swanky restaurant in the Fillmore, and they had a DJ spinning Indian/house music and a henna artist on site. How could I say no to free henna? Needless to say, my dinner date had to feed me dosa and lamb curry while I held out my hand for the henna to dry.
